Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're looking at the Curt Premium hanging style bike rack here on our 2015 BMW X5. So the Curt Premium bike rack is a very family friendly bike rack. Why is it family friendly Well, it has a very unique design where the cradles are further apart here towards the beginning. And then when it comes to the end, it tapers or becomes more narrow. And this is especially helpful when you have children's bikes, because your normal hanging style bike racks that have straight arms, it's really hard to maneuver those children's bikes through. more

Now guys, this is gonna be the quintessential platform style bike rack, to get your bikes wherever you wanna go. Now, the Kuat NV, obviously very, very stylish that you guys can always see that for yourself. Here the nice little copper orange accents throughout it, even on that front tire hold, which is great, and I do really like how most of the bikes black, the bike rack actually looks. Of course, however, it doesn't just stop there, you got in a lot of great features and you got a lot of great capability with this rack. So, it's not only awesome looking, it also performs well too. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2016 BMW X5, we're doing a test-fit of the RockyMounts Backstage Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: RKY10002.Now, we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to go over a couple features. First feature I want to go over is our tilting feature, because we can do this with our bikes fully loaded. We're going to come here to our convenient handle in the back, so we won't have to reach between our bikes. We're just going to pull on that and tilt our bikes with our bike rack away from our vehicle. In this position, we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. more

We already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the middle and we're going to pull down on this lever here, and that's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack, with our bikes fully loaded, away from our vehicle. In this position we're able to open up our hatch. You'll see we have plenty of clearance there. We're not going to have to worry about contact, and we can get anything in or out that we may need. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 BMW X1- Video
Today on our 2015 BMW X1, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Classic and that's part number TH9044. It's a platform style rack, it holds two bikes with zero frame contact. We have this wheel hook upfront here, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle here. The back, we have this adjustable wheel cradle here that's keeping our wheel in place. Like I said, it's a really nice feature for being it a no frame contact especially if you got like a carbon fiber bike or if you just don't want any scratches or anything like that. Another great feature this bike rack has is it has the ability to tilt away from our X1 so we can gain access to our rear hatch. We're going to locate this lever here. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 BMW X1- Video
Today in our 2015 BMW X1, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat 00:00:05 NV 2.0 platform style 2-bike rack. That's part number NV22G. So I've already got it loaded up on the X1 just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. It actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We have this wheel hook here in the front, putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. Here in the back we've got a wheel strap going over our wheel and keeping that in place. So it's a really nice feature if you've got a carbon fiber bike or a bike that you'd just like to keep from getting any scratches. Let's go ahead and point out one of the main features though. more
